Ubisoft is one of the top-most console game developer including Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends, etc. If you are a PC game lover, you might have played these games and may have become a die-hard fan too. While, the PC and Console versions of these games have rocked, they could not garner the same fanfare when it came to the mobile.
Ubisoft’s mobile app developers are always searching for the best ways to deliver a top-notch experience to its users with high expectations. With the growing number of apps users Ubisoft decided to focus on creating app versions of its already existed PC games. But unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the best possible experience to the app users as it did to the PC game users.
Here we have named the five favourite titles of PC game lovers that failed to rock on the mobile platform.
1. Far Cry 3 Outpost
Ubisoft has sold around 10 million copies of Far Cry 3–best ever shooter PC game. It is the bigger, better and the ever challenging game where players are given freedom to do anything within the game. The game has a beautiful world to explore with everyting for convincing users to hook for a long play session. Beautifully crafted environments make Far cry a treat on PC or Playstation.
However, when you play Far Cry 3 on your mobile, you wouldn’t believe that it is actually a Far Cry 3, you played on your PC. It’s a game where you have to decode encrypted data with the help your friends and other clues. Due to various sign-in issues and a complete different environment as compared to the PC version, the game has received only 3.7/5 stars on Google Play store.
2. Ghost Recon Network
Ghost Recon is one of the best tactical shooter PC games, combining a perfect mix of realism, action and user-friendliness. Even after 13 years of its release, users are still crazy after it. You will read great complements on this game at Metacritic where it has scored 8.5 out of 10 based on user ratings.
Ghost Recon Network is a companion app to Ghost Recon: Failure Soldier. The game is based on choosing the weapon, you like the most. You can even make your own weapon within the game. The game is loaded with 40 weapons including, pistols, rifles, sniper rifles, etc. Nothing similar like that of in Ghost Recon: Failure Soldier. The game fails to carry the user’s expectations due to which it received 3.8 out of 5 on Google Play Store.
3. Watch Dogs Dark Clouds
PC version of Watch Dogs is a great blend of cutting-edge technology and sophisticated plus realistic game designs. It gives an open world to players where they can use any sources to beat the enemies. The game keeps the users hooked with it for dozens of hours, giving them a different environment to keep them entertained all the time. But that doesn’t follow through for mobile as well. First of all it is not a game, but a book written by a prolific author and a pioneer of the cyberpunk movement, John Shirley. The book app is made with the purpose to make the story reading and understanding easy for users. The app failed to respond well on devices as users are facing swipes issues. Moreover, it lacks the functionality of maintaining a good page display. The app is good at everything, just required some functionality improvements to score higher on the app store.
4. Just Dance 2015 Controller
When Just Dance 2015 entered the market, it was awarded as the top selling video game and a centrepiece of popular culture. The game aims you to follow the dancing moves using a handheld remote or a camera. You can record your own dance and share it with the world to get reviews and suggestions on your dancing moves. Amazing dancing moves and music along will keep you fit and adds fun to it.
Just Dance 2015 Controller is an app for those who don’t have a camera or don’t wish to use a camera in their PC. It allows you to play Just Dance using your smartphone on PS4 and Xbox one. The game is really cool, removing the necessity of camera and giving you an option to follow any dancer or dance moves, you wish for. The only problem that makes the rank of game come down on app stores is its various connection issues; the rest is all fine, even better.
5. Motoheroz
Motoheroz is a side-scrolling platform racer game and really an addictive title that you find hard to put down, once you start playing with it. Great music, crazy multiplayer, attractive graphics and mind-boggling game play will keep you in a playing mode for hours. Also, daily wi-fi challenges will inspire you to come back in the game and beat the challenges. You will never find a really great combo of things, you are expecting from a well-featured game.
App version of Motoheroz is overall a fun quite similar to its console version. But the policies are hard for users to follow. The game will not work, until you have a wi-fi connection. Second, it displays too many ads that ruins the user’s fun. Looking at the physics and fun levels, the game deserves 5 stars, but because of some barriers, it has received only 3.8 out of 5.
Conclusion
It is a huge challenge to create a companion app to pc version. Ubisoft, a top PC game maker, accepted the challenge and applied its best efforts to achieve the same position on app world. While these are a few handful games that did not do great on mobile, Ubisoft apparently seems to have a significant learning curve. TMost of their mobile games have 4+ ratings and provide immersive gameplay.
