Top 5 console games that did not shine in mobile-Part 3

5 console games

Ubisoft is one of the top-most console game developer including Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends, etc. If you are a PC game lover, you might have played these games and may have become a die-hard fan too. While, the PC and Console versions of these games have rocked, they could not garner the same fanfare when it came to the mobile.

Ubisoft’s mobile app developers are always searching for the best ways to deliver a top-notch experience to its users with high expectations. With the growing number of apps users Ubisoft decided to focus on creating app versions of its already existed PC games. But unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the best possible experience to the app users as it did to the PC game users.

Here we have named the five favourite titles of PC game lovers that failed to rock on the mobile platform.

1. Far Cry 3 Outpost

far cry 3 outpost

Ubisoft has sold around 10 million copies of Far Cry 3–best ever shooter PC game. It is the bigger, better and the ever challenging game where players are given freedom to do anything within the game. The game has a beautiful world to explore with everyting for convincing users to hook for a long play session. Beautifully crafted environments make Far cry a treat on PC or Playstation.

However, when you play Far Cry 3 on your mobile, you wouldn’t believe that it is actually a Far Cry 3, you played on your PC. It’s a game where you have to decode encrypted data with the help your friends and other clues. Due to various sign-in issues and a complete different environment as compared to the PC version, the game has received only 3.7/5 stars on Google Play store.

2. Ghost Recon Network

Ghost recon network

Ghost Recon is one of the best tactical shooter PC games, combining a perfect mix of realism, action and user-friendliness. Even after 13 years of its release, users are still crazy after it. You will read great complements on this game at Metacritic where it has scored 8.5 out of 10 based on user ratings.

Ghost Recon Network is a companion app to Ghost Recon: Failure Soldier. The game is based on choosing the weapon, you like the most. You can even make your own weapon within the game. The game is loaded with 40 weapons including, pistols, rifles, sniper rifles, etc. Nothing similar like that of in Ghost Recon: Failure Soldier. The game fails to carry the user’s expectations due to which it received 3.8 out of 5 on Google Play Store.

3. Watch Dogs Dark Clouds

Watch Dogs Dark Clouds

PC version of Watch Dogs is a great blend of cutting-edge technology and sophisticated plus realistic game designs. It gives an open world to players where they can use any sources to beat the enemies. The game keeps the users hooked with it for dozens of hours, giving them a different environment to keep them entertained all the time. But that doesn’t follow through for mobile as well. First of all it is not a game, but a book written by a prolific author and a pioneer of the cyberpunk movement, John Shirley. The book app is made with the purpose to make the story reading and understanding easy for users. The app failed to respond well on devices as users are facing swipes issues. Moreover, it lacks the functionality of maintaining a good page display. The app is good at everything, just required some functionality improvements to score higher on the app store.

4. Just Dance 2015 Controller

Just Dance 2015 Controller

When Just Dance 2015 entered the market, it was awarded as the top selling video game and a centrepiece of popular culture. The game aims you to follow the dancing moves using a handheld remote or a camera. You can record your own dance and share it with the world to get reviews and suggestions on your dancing moves. Amazing dancing moves and music along will keep you fit and adds fun to it.

Just Dance 2015 Controller is an app for those who don’t have a camera or don’t wish to use a camera in their PC. It allows you to play Just Dance using your smartphone on PS4 and Xbox one. The game is really cool, removing the necessity of camera and giving you an option to follow any dancer or dance moves, you wish for. The only problem that makes the rank of game come down on app stores is its various connection issues; the rest is all fine, even better.

5. Motoheroz

Motoheroz

Motoheroz is a side-scrolling platform racer game and really an addictive title that you find hard to put down, once you start playing with it. Great music, crazy multiplayer, attractive graphics and mind-boggling game play will keep you in a playing mode for hours. Also, daily wi-fi challenges will inspire you to come back in the game and beat the challenges. You will never find a really great combo of things, you are expecting from a well-featured game.

App version of Motoheroz is overall a fun quite similar to its console version. But the policies are hard for users to follow. The game will not work, until you have a wi-fi connection. Second, it displays too many ads that ruins the user’s fun. Looking at the physics and fun levels, the game deserves 5 stars, but because of some barriers, it has received only 3.8 out of 5.

Conclusion

It is a huge challenge to create a companion app to pc version. Ubisoft, a top PC game maker, accepted the challenge and applied its best efforts to achieve the same position on app world. While these are a few handful games that did not do great on mobile, Ubisoft apparently seems to have a significant learning curve. TMost of their mobile games have 4+ ratings and provide immersive gameplay.

top consol games

After creating major titles on consoles, mobile version is the next target of developers. Most of all games are available there for smartphones, which are already existed in consoles. These days, it’s too common to create a mobile version of console version for mobile app developers, but it’s uncommon that the game which tocuhed the skies on consoles, will also make the grades on mobiles.

Gameloft is a world leader of video game development. All of you have played with the games created by Gameloft like Assassin’s Creed series, Driver San Francisco, etc. in your PC’s and enjoyed a lot with them. These games are also available for mobile devices, but you might not receive the similar fun as you were having from the console versions. Here are the top 5 mobile version of console games developed by Gameloft, failed to make the grades on mobile.

1. Assassin’s Creed Revelations

Assassin’s Creed Revelations

PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is another historical adventure and a quality addition to the series. Detailed graphics, textures and models are mostly appreciated by users for this game. Easy to use weapons and other material made the users fall in love . On Metacritic, the game has received total 85 positive reviews from users as well as from critics.

If we talk about the mobile app version of this game, we can’t say the same . The app is good at everything but some lack of graphics and installation problems for devices with different hardware profiles has become a great barrier between the game and its success. Based on user reviews & ratings, the game has received 3.2 out of 5 stars on Google Play Store.

2. Assassin’s Creed

Assassin’s Creed

There’s no doubt that the whole series of Assassin’s Creed is just a fun-burst for PC game lovers. Even after a few years of release, Assassin’s Creed still counts among the list of top PC games. Great graphics, eye catching animations, inspiring stories, challenging missions, etc. all together are successfully keeping the users addictive for the game from beginning to the end.

The mobile app version of Assassin’s Creed even if not a greatest, but a pretty good representation. Graphics and controls of app version are not as good as they are in PC version. Better controls and improved graphics are what mobile users are demanding to give this game a 5 star rating on app stores.

3. Driver San Francisco

Driver San Francisco

Driver San Francisco has a groundbreaking gameplay, including a fun and a lot of humor for players. Gamers are playing the role of a detective, struggling to find the criminal and travelling from the hilly areas of the city. Overall, the game offers a lot of fun for players. It gives them a chance to live a virtual life of a detective and experience the difficulties with pleasure.

For app version, we will not complain about graphics as they are much greater than the PC version. Users are happy with the graphics but the game has received only 3.2/5 stars. The reason is the game is not compatible or not working in a same way in different types of mobile devices. Driver San Francisco has a clear way to get high scores on app stores by fixing some device issues.

4. N.O.V.A. 2 – Near Orbit

N.O.V.A. 2 - Near Orbit

N.O.V.A. 2 – Near Orbit… is the game, a PC game player can’t ignore. Each part of the whole game is revealing a moment that fits in the mind of the player. Passing through the beautiful forest, destroying the colourful buildings and many more events are taking place within the game. All these things keep the players hooked with the game for a couple of hours.

The app version of this game is fine in every manner; even at some levels, it is just amazing, especially the multiplayer mode. But the controls are slightly weak due to which it has got only 3.3/5 stars. Controls are performing differently in various mobile devices, might be because of compatibility issues.

5. UNO

UNO

UNO is a multiplayer card game, allowing players to compete against other players worldwide. UNO is a simple game, but it is too addictive that once you start playing, you can’t stop yourself to play more. UNO gives the ability to players to change the rules and customize them according to their wish. This feature is mostly appreciated feature by UNO fans. On Metacritic, UNO fans and critics have posted great reviews for the game.

In its app version, UNO has achieved a great success in delivering an awesome mobile experience to its users. But it fails to be compatible with the newer devices. Lots of users have played this game in their mobile device, but they have complained that when they switched to newer devices, the game fails to work, showing incompatible issues. Gameloft is still working to make the game be compatible with newer devices.

Conclusion

The above games are creations of Gameloft, a leader of successful PC games. Gameloft has tried its best to deliver the same experience to mobile users as it is with the PC version. And it has surely achieved its task, but failed to tackle the control and compatibility issues, according to the hardware profiles of different Android devices. Gameloft is still working on these games, qualifying them to run without any error on all kinds of devices.
